What the planner uses

ItemPurposeDuration
__Host-optiroute
Secure cookie
Keeps you signed in. Contains an opaque session token, not your password or route.Up to 30 days; removed on sign-out or account deletion.
optiroute-journey
Tab/session storage
Restores your calculated route, addresses and completed-stop progress when you return from Maps or reload this tab.Expires 12 hours after your latest route/progress update; removed on the next visit, when cleared or when the browser discards the tab storage.
optiroute-draft
Tab/session storage
Keeps an input list while you go to the account page to unlock a larger route.Up to 12 hours; removed when a journey replaces it or you clear route data.
optiroute-inputs and optiroute-remember
Local storage
Remembers your input addresses, vehicle choice and settings only when you select “Remember inputs on this device”.Inputs expire 30 days after use and are removed on the next visit. Turning the option off removes the saved inputs and preference.

The sign-in cookie and active-journey storage support the functions you request. Remembering inputs across visits is optional and is off by default. Our existing planner previously saved inputs automatically; this version requires the explicit remember choice.

Hosting and external services

The hosting/security platform may use essential security or authentication technologies. Address lookup, map images and the Leaflet software are loaded from third-party services. These services receive technical request information; see our privacy notice. Stripe applies its own cookies and security technologies on its checkout page when payments are available. Google and Apple apply their own settings when you open their navigation links.

We have not added optional advertising or analytics technologies requiring an “accept all” banner. If we introduce non-essential tracking, we will update this page and provide the appropriate controls before enabling it.

Clear your route data

The button below removes remembered inputs, the remember preference and the active journey in this browser tab. It does not sign you out, delete your account, clear other browser tabs’ session storage or remove downloaded files. You can also clear all site data in your browser’s settings. Leave the remember option off on a shared device.
